Why did my chickens cross the road?

I don't know either but my daughter came in telling me that the chickens were across the road in the woods. We live out in the country but the road we live on is pretty busy and people speed down it all the time (over 60 in a 40) I was thinking about using an electric wire across the front of the yard. Hopefully that will detur them.

More critters to dig up. They plowed the field next to us and they are out there all the time.

They instinctively know where the goodies are.

I have been concerning myself with the same issue recently. Mine haven't crossed over yet, because I have been watching them like a mad-woman for the most part. But people fly down our road all the time because it's a country road....so apparently....speed limits don't apply out here. Hmph.
