**Why do you LOVE you chickens?**

So, why do you love your chickens?

I have 5 silkies (4 are a month and 15 days and the other one is a month and 3 days) and 6 unknown (1 or 2 roosters in that mix) All are banties!

Well, I love my chickens because
1. I'm allergic to a lot of things except feathery and scaley creatures.
2. They make my breakfast.
3. They will eat almost anything!

4. They make me laugh when they do stupid things!
5. They know when I'm sad
6. They are soft and will cuddle
7. They eat bugs that I don't like (spiders)
8. They don't have teeth so they can't bite
9. They give me fertilizer
10. THEY ARE THE MOST CUTESTES THINGS EVER!!!!!!!!

So, Why do you love your chickens? How many do you have? Give us some background!!!

I have: 1 BO
1 Wyandotte
1 Brahma
1 Barred Rock
1 Amerucana

I love them for the reasons you listed plus:

They don't smell, unlike my dogs who need yet another bath (sigh)
Their poo is good for my yard, unlike a dog's
They don't mess up my house because they live outside
They look funny/ sweet when they gallop towards me when I call them
They are just awesome.

I agree!! I think it should be a law that everyone needs to own at least 3 chickens. 2 hens 1 roo........i am going to run for president!

I have a lot of chicken and I love every one of them.
I have slikies, cochins, EE, polish, d'Uccles, and my mix goup and all together I have 52 chickens of all ages.

True, they don't have teeth, but they can "bite" a plug out of you with their beak. Just try to mess with a broody's babies sometime!

I love my six black Australorps because I can take my chair out and sit with them and they socialize. They will wander away from me, but if I attract their attention, they come running back to me. They are so curious and funny.

I love my chickens because I'm very moody

and sometimes I get thinking too much...then I look out the window and one of my chickens does something FUNNY or STUPID and I start laughing.

They are the best mood enhancer EVER!
