WHY IS MY HEN CROWING!!!?!!?

    I caught my six year old female Sebright bantam CROWING!!!!! She crowed 4 times that i saw. Why is she doing this?

    Is she a proven hen?
    Has she layed eggs?

    She lays a egg every day i see her on the nest all the time
    I do not know if she is proven someone gave her to me

    I had two sebright hens that started crowing. Yes they were both hens and both laid eggs and when they got to be around 4 years old they crowed. I think it's a harmone thing.

    Older hens (mostly if there's no rooster with the flock), will become dominant and act like a rooster...

    That's what I thought at first but their are 3 roosters in the flock

    You can imagine how shocked i was when i walked into the hen house and she pulled back her head and crowed! The rooster was more shocked than i was!!!!!!
