Why is my LEAST mature pullet squatting? *PIC*

I have six girls all born on the same day and they are 19 week tomorrow. About two weeks ago my most mature pullet (a Rhodie named Chico) began squatting. She has been doing it more and more since but no eggs yet. Today my least mature pullet (a BR named Lil' Peep) started squatting. The odd thing is that she just has little buds for wattles and her comb is still quite small and pink. I also had another Rhodie (Sandy) squat tonight. She had a little bit of poop on her fluff so when she went to roost tonight I got a wet rag and when I held her down on the roost and began pulling the poop off her fluff shw squatted and started drumming her leg! Her comb and wattles are coming in but are about half the size of Chico's. I thought for sure that Lil' Peep and Sandy would be my LAST to start squatting but they are my second and third!

Any ideas on this?

That doesn't really look like squatting to me... Usually they will go down to where you can't really see their legs... my least mature does that same thing... I guess its kinda like pre-squatting but I might be wrong.

Some squat and some never do. I wouldn't put too emphasis on who is and who isn't. Also, some grow enormous facial features and some do not. Again, I wouldn't put too much stock in that either.

My BR, Penelopy, started laying at 22 wks and was the first to lay of my 4 girls, the others are 1 RIR and 2 BO's. I think that all have started laying (they are 27 wks old, after all:/) but my BR is the only one that lays with consistancy, usally 5-6 eggs a week. For the past 3 days I have gotten 3 eggs a day, I can't wait for a 4 egg day All of that to say that your BR looks like Penelopy did right before she started to lay. It's so eggsciting, you will be getting eggs before long:yiipchick Jean

my last flock would squat every time I came near them, my new girls never squat! Chickens are weird
