Hi all! This is my first post- all information and help would be so appreciated! I recently had a what looks like adult wild male Muscovy show up on my pond. Quickly, I realized he had a severely broken leg but after some time have realized this is either an old injury he has coped with or a deformity. I am assuming he is under a year old because his carnucles (sp?) are not very prominent? From what I’ve been reading. He has stayed on our pond now for 4 days, perching in trees at night and sticking by the geese who fly in during the day (if they’re nice enough to let him tag along.) Will he ever find a flock with such an obvious deformity? Will he be okay living life as an only duck as he seems to have no interest in leaving? I’ve been feeding him duck feed and scratch grains.

Hi Cwood850, this little guy seems well adjusted. I would not worry about his leg

Will he ever find a mate or a flock?? Probably as he is well adjusted to his situation.

Is there need to intervene? It doesnt sound like it!
Thanks for caring about him and being wise enough to wait and watch
