My neighbors just dropped by and handed me this little guy. They found it on the road and said they waited and looked for mama but couldn’t find signs of its flock. I’m not sure what it is but I’ve got it set up with a duckling setup since it looks like waterfowl. Its beak is more elongated and hooked at the tip though, and it’s a HECK of a jumper. It uses its feet to try to claw onto the mirror to climb and jump higher to escape the brooder.
It could be Tuesday before someone from wildlife rescue calls back and I just want to make sure I’ve got the right setup. Looks to be a day or two old.

Any ideas? I’m in northwest WA state and it was found near a lake trail. Wigeon? Scaup?

I’m just a newbie and have no experience in identifying young waterfowl. But did you consider this could be a very young gosling aswel? Or does it have more duck characteristics? I googled out of curiosity and found this gosling of the great white fronted goose. Hopefully someone is able to help! It is a pretty bird!
