A mallard has had a nest right outside our front window for close to a month now. She is back and forth all the time and has done a great job with her 11 eggs.

Yesterday 2 ducklings hatched all the way out, and were cute as can be. Yesterday evening she was sitting on them, and a third was coming out as well.

This morning Mom was gone and there was one dead duckling by the nest. I can only assume something got to them? Have not seen Mom all morning. There is the one duckling still helplessly peeping halfway in his shell. There are 2 more pipping through. There are 4 inactive.

What should I do? Any advice would be GREATLY appreciated!

I would leave them, and if mom is not back by tonight I would start to look for a wildlife rehabilitator, and put out some game bird feed next to the nest tonight as well

do the exact same as the first comment, but remember to protect them. Predators are all around during night hours.
