Has anyone had success putting day old baby chicks under a broody goose?
I have had chicken hens raise just about every other kind of birds. Ducks and geese because of their larger webbed feet tend to crush and injure smaller 'chicks'.
Thank you for that!
But just out of curiosity, will a goose sit on chicks to keep them warm?
Not sure about that, but I have had ducks hatch and brood chicks. The end result was not good. Those that didn't get trampled got wet and chilled whenever the mother went swimming.
OK it looks like I will be the brood mama this go!
Wish me luck. These will be my first chickens...
Good luck. You can do it.
