Will a silkie just sit and sit?

I know that silkies are awesome at going broody but they don't stay broody all the time do they? What I mean is that when they bo broody they will sit in their nest box all day pretty much but they will come out in the run just like any other chicken during the rest of the time, yes?

Correct me if I am wrong: Are you asking whether silkies are like any other breed when they are not broody?

The answer to that question is YES. Silkies are just "normal" birds but my Silkie hen goes broody after about a month of laying. She will not abandon the nest. Once I broke her when she became broody (I kept her away from the nest box for about a week). It took her 2 months to start laying eggs again. They are the defination of DEDICATION
