Will chickens eat up okra plants?

Well, they are fairly "deer resistant" and I heard that deer resistant plants are usually fairly chicken-resistant as well. Okra leaves are pretty nasty, so I'm hoping that the chickens don't like them.
The only thing the deer eat are the blooms, which should be higher than the chickens can reach.

    Does anybody know for sure?

I am new to the byc and I thought my okra plants were safe. I came home today to find my chickens eating the leaves. Especially the young leaves
