I just got my 5 chicks yesterday and I'm already so smitten! They are nice and warm in their brooder but I want to take them out to play! Is it too cold to take one out and play with him? They do not seem scared of me at all! I just don't want them to get too chilly. Thanks!

No, they should be fine. for a while. If they get chilled they will peep loudly. You will definately know if they are uncomfortable. Be very gentle, and beware they will jump out of your hands or off furniture with no regard for their own safety. They will probably not really play with you. At least not like a puppy or kitten.

I loved playing with them one at a time. If you are holding them they shouldn't get cold. They will also learn they are safe with you.

I am sure if you are holding them they won't get cold. I love playing with my chicks individually, they will learn to trust you as you hold them more.
