Will my chicks run away?

I am new to raising chickens. I have three chicks tat are about 5 weeks old. It is wrm enough dudring the day to let them outside so I have been letting them out in a small pen. I am scared to let them run free because at the end of the ay I will need to catch them. Please Help!!

Once they are used to roosting in their pen/coop they will usually put themselves up at night.

Make sure they have been in their pen for at least a week, then let them out just before dusk - maybe an hour or so before.

Then watch to see if they will put themselves up - they usually will.
