Will silkie accept week old chicks

I want to buy some week old chicks from a breeder but he won't sell because there too young so I was thinking if I give the week old chicks to a broody silkie will she take them or should I wait tiil the are older then buy the chicks

Giving a broody week old chicks is risky. She may not accept them or the chicks may not accept her. I have done this successfully, but I'd recommend that you wait and get the chicks when they are older. Should you decide to try this put the chicks under the hen at night and be prepared to use a heat lamp/brooder if it doesn't work out.
