I have 11, one year old EE's that lay every day and mostly through the winter too with a light in the hen house. I am looking for Three Black marans hens to start a lavender marans project.

    Love your avatar!
If I had 3 extra hens I would certainly love to trade but I have 6 pens of different ages and can't tell on some of them if there are pullets or roos. On some bloodlines I can tell but these last little ones are more difficult but they are not very big yet.
I can assure you I have a ton of roos but that does you no good. My oldest group is 13 roos and 4 hens! My second group is 4 roos and 2 hens. After that I can't tell.
    Good luck!

Don't you need black? Lavender is a diluter of black. If you breed with blue, would you not end up with blue or splash type chicks?
