Please answer ASAP!
I just got a bag of wood shavings for my chicks and after I got home and opened the bag I realized that the bag didn't say what kind of wood shavings they were.
I called the store and asked and they said it was a mix of wood.
So it might have cedar in it, but my dad said it didn't smell at all like cedar.
Will it be OK to use? My dad works with wood a lot.

If there is even the possibility of Cedar I wouldn't use it since the Cedar can kill even the adults so it would defiantly harm the chicks. I am not doubting your a wood worker but I would go find something else (being paranoid with chicks is a very good idea)

But the shavings aren't even dark red like cedar and it has no smell at all.
They look like pine and other light colored woods.

I agree with nightbird, if you're not sure I wouldn't use it. Not worth the chance for a few dollars. Even a little cedar can be bad for the little ones respiratory system. Stick to pine.

cedar is mostly brown so if it dont smell like xxxx and don't look like ccccc then use it...jeff
