Hey everbody! I'm a first time chicken owner and I have a question that hopefully someone can answer. I just bought two laying hens. One is in her first few months of laying and the other is about 2 years old. The lady I bought these beautiful girls from said they were both laying an egg day. Will the move affect their laying pattern?

i'm only a newbie myself but i read somewhere that any kind of stress can cause the hens to stop laying for a little bit. i think that includes a change in the environment.

They might stop laying for a while from the stress. I bought some that were supposedly laying, and they did not lay until FOUR MONTHS after I brought them home. Then I got some that were supposedly too old and not laying anymore...the next morning there was a nest full of eggs. You never know. At their age, they will still lay eggs, even if it takes them a bit to start again.
