Will they stop eating?

I have 2 six day old ducklings and I just brought them home from a 2 hour long car drive. They didn't eat or drink the entire way and now they are eating like mad men!! Will they stop when they are full or should I take out the food before they hurt themselves??? This is my first time with ducks!!

I understand the reasoning for not feeding them on a car trip, though water is a fine thing for travel (you can make a spill-proof water dish).

With ducklings, they need food with water 24/7. They get very hungry very quickly, and will gorge themselves to the point of vomiting.

Probably things have calmed down by now for you - please let us know.

In the future, what I would do is give them a small amount of food - with water as always - and then wait five or ten minutes, give another small amount of food, wait, and then go back to the 24/7 food with water regimen.
