I dont have any pictures....but it is a large cattle watering trough with two heat lamps on top. Im expecting anywhere between twenty six to 30 chicks.

I use a galvanized water trough, it got a hole in the bottom so it was no good for water anymore. I hang a heat lamp at one end. It held 7 seven week old chicks comfy. I think you could put pretty many in for a couple weeks.

I'm sure you will do great! Just put a thermometer under the light and make sure that it is 95 degrees. [IMG]

I think you made a perfect choice for a brooder!! I have seen some chicks at the local feed store put in one of these with heat lamps. Just make sure they stay warm and use a thermometer like other posters have said. You are doing great!!! Enjoy them!!!!

MandyH You'll shoot your eye out!

I've got a 4x2 trough and it currently holds at least 50 chicks underone week old. They have PLENTY of room to run about and harass each other.

Most old brooders I've seen are made out of metal. Keep it warm
and clean and it should work fine.
