Thats interesting- because out here- you cannot band the legs of land fowl in any way for a show. Waterfowl are allowed to be shown with leg tags as long as they have no kind of identifying number on them.

Good luck DarkWolf When You DO Enter your Birds.

Showing ducks is a lot of fun.
For some reason, they just show themselves really, really well. We show Calls and maybe it's just their personality, but people LOVE them.

We've shown ducks and chickens for 11 years. We always enjoy showing but have cut back on the number of shows we attend every year because we have children now and its not as easy to travel with three little ones and a bunch of waterfowl and chickens. We do try to hit most of the local shows. Like within a hour or two of us, and have been to others further away, but never shown much there. We won reserve champion light duck with a Welsh Harlequin drake we hatched in 2006 at the last Crossroads National in Indianapolis. (beat out by a Kahki Campbell). Over they years our welsh harlequins have done consistently well, but our other breeds are your average show winners so although we've seen a couple of our Mallards on champion row, and once had a grey call drake on there, we mainly go to visit, sell stock, and to catch up with the crowd. We love it!!!
