My black swedish duck started laying over the summer and has laid everyday since. I thought they were supposed to slow down over the winter. I live in southwestern Pennsylvania, and we have had some nights hovering around 0 degrees this winter. I never would have thought I would get an egg those mornings! More power to her! [IMG]

My Runners laid eggs for 14 to 16 months straight, once they started. As they age, they lay for shorter durations. But they still lay by the beginning of summer.

Thank you! I thought she was crazy! She lays beautiful eggs. I just wasn't sure if this was the norm. [IMG]

I think it is quite normal for their first year or two.

I have a BEI laying 4 to 5 eggs a week now, for at least a month. She had taken a couple of months off, but then started up again.
She is about a year or so old.
