    First pic is of my RIR pullets that just started laying!!!! Fresh eggs all winter!!!
    Second pic is of my cute spangled Hamburgs...

    Is it just me or do those look way too black to be RIR's? I've never seen a RIR as dark as that. Mine is a deep chestnut color....

    At the other poster....I believe that show quality RIR's are supposed to be like the darkest mahogany brown. The lighter ones are production reds (from my understanding anyway LOL)

    That is true Tricia..exhibition RIR are very dark:D When they are out in the sun..they are not as dark.
