Winter Treat Recipes ❄️🌨️

Oooh I bet your chickens loved that! I like freezing any extra goat's milk I have into a semi hard slushy block and letting them peck at it in the summer! I usually do warm mashes with some of my goat's alfalfa hay since it's high in protein. They love anything corn too. I also give them the small suet blocks made for wild birds since it's fat and grain- they go crazy!

Yeah, I do hot mash too!
Stir in old leftovers from the fridge, a bit of scratch, and a handful of mealworms!
Sometimes some nuts or seeds, and alfalfa cubes from the goats!

@MamaPoult, what is a suet block?

Suet (hard animal fat) containing seeds, fruit, etc. Mostly you’ll see them for wild birds, but some are for chickens.

Thanks, I’ll have to look into that!
You can get the "Royal Wing" brand at TSC for decently cheap, they sell for $1.79 each by me! :)

I would get the ones with seeds only ^^^ and avoid the ones that are "flavored" as shown below:

You could also get a suet feeder to prevent it from being on the ground and getting dirt all stuck to it.
