This might sound silly do hens lay eggs in the winter?
& do hens lay eghs well shareing a coop with a rooster?

Yes and yes.
hens will slow down in the winter and some will not lay until they get more light just depends on the breed.

My hens lay all year round and i dont even put a light in the house. I also have a rooster. So thats my answers. Hello from Maine !

Never had chickens befor. We. Feed them maize grain. Earth worms
