I miss living in Wisconsin, the rest of the world is rather dull by comparison.

I felt the same way having been away in the military for 21 years. I've lived all over the U.S. and nothing quite compares. We moved backed here in June. My 15 year old son who is rather unimpressed with most things, keeps saying things like "Man, I love this state!". The other day we were driving up the highway along the Mississippi river near our house and there must have been 1000 pelicans out on the water, a three mile wide river pool nestled between the bluffs of Wisconsin and Minnesota. He looks out there and says "Man, I love this state."

Ha!
Before I even scrolled down to read the replies, I emailed this article to my DD and my BF. That is the title to my email.
Great minds think alike.

I remember being in the same area of the world and looking out on the Mississippi and seeing hundreds of bald eagles. Most beautiful sight ever. Except for the bugs, humidity and winters, I do kind of miss the place.

As for the story, I'd say that was survival of the fittest..... but is that really the case?
