Hello All!
After a 3 year fight, our town finally gave us permission to raise 6 hens in our backyard suburban yards! I grew up on a farm and had banty mutts most of my childhood and am excited to have my children (6 and 3m) be able to enjoy them as much as I did. We will also be able to start participating in 4-H now too!
We have to build a coop, and then get some chicks.. I think I am leaning towards silkies, sizzles, and showgirl types. Mostly because they are super tame, can't fly well, are winter hardy, and really..cause they are so darn CUTE!
