I know we talk a lot about sq ft but I am building an 8X5X5 chicken coop with a 9X9X6 run attached. Part of the 9X9 will be covered for shade and protection from the rain and snow. I have 10 standard chickens and 1 bantam. Is this going to work for them?

Only way to tell if it "will" work is, of course, to wait and see -- but it seems plausible, plenty of people have setups that size and get by [IMG] The coop isn't excessively large for a northern winter but it sounds like your run will be reasonably appealing (roofed, etc) so hopefully they will spend lots of time outdoors during most of the winter.

    Good luck, ahve fun,
