Hello,
My husband and I run a pig farm in the high desert of Cali and decided to try our hand at chicken raising... Now running a farm I clearly know the reality of what must be done sometimes to ensure they don't suffer and make pen mates sick.... This little hen got picked very badly 2 1/2 weeks ago. Since them she has be separated from the flock and put back into the brooding trailer... I keep waiting for feathers to start growing. To my surprise she hasn't grown hardly any. She is eating and drinking wonderfully though. I have examined her for parasites and checked her poop (all seems fine, no parasites that I can tell, and now funny breathing or discharge)
Will she eventually get her feathers back? Is there anything I can giver her to help speed feather growth along? Like I said we are pig farmers, this is out first try with chickens... I would appreciate any and all advice/suggestions! Thank you so very much!!!
