can you use oak wood shavings for bedding or will it hurt the chickens? I only ask this because I know that oak is poisonous to horses. Does any one know?

I've been using it for both the brooder and coops for several months. Nobody's dead yet. I also use it in my barn for the mules. They're not dead yet either.[IMG]

Ive heard that cedar is harmful to chicks and chickens. But never heard anything about oak being harmful. It is probaly just fine.
