Woodchip alternatives.

I have 5 7-week-old Easter Egger chicks and they are using the bathroom like crazy. I have to layer on woodchips twice a day and change every other day. I was wondering what else could be used for odor management.

I like sand and sweet PDZ. It's working very well for me. I scoop the poop every 2-3 days.

Where are you keeping them? How much space do they have? Small confided spaces concentrate the smell.
