[IMG] We got our first egg today!!! [IMG]
Our ladies are 23 weeks old as of yesterday 1/12. I went out this morning and looked in there nesting boxes and there was a circle in the hay and in the middle was this little brown egg. [IMG] I was so happy I had to call hubby at work. We have 3 EE, 1 GLW, 1 SLW, and 2 BA.

Here is the egg weighing in at 1.66 oz (47.0g) [IMG] (pretty dark brown with darker speckles)

    EE Monroe

    EE Wild One

All I know is that both the Wyandottes and Australorps lay brown eggs and possibly the EE. [IMG]

My guess is it was one of the BA's [IMG] (but then again I am pretty partial to them!) [IMG]

Congrats on the first egg!!! Taking a wild guess but probably Foxy or the GLW would look to the most likely as far as maturity goes. One of mt GLW's looked about like yours when she started laying at 24 weekks and egg fits desription too. May have to watch the gitrls a bit to see how they act. Is any of them squatting?

Foxy my BA started squatting about a week ago that I noticed. Here is the post when I was talking about her squatting: https://www.backyardchickens.com/forum/viewtopic.php?id=283333

    When
I look up the BA and SLW/GLW most things just say brown eggs. I didn't know if one lays a darker brown normaly or they just very.

Just so excited we have one now!!! [IMG]

    Congrats! [IMG]

I think it's either Foxy or your GLW. I think you will be getting lots of eggs soon, because they all look really close to laying.

Your EE's are REALLY close, as they have the red around their beaks.

My guess would be a BA. Mine was my first to lay. [IMG] Foxy looks just like my Big Bertha. I'd bet money on her. [IMG]
