Wooo hoooooo! Welsummer Bantams! PICS on Pg2

    This morning I found FIVE chickies in the bator hatched! I am so delighted! Now I can not wait for more to hatch if anything goes well.

    They sure did come a long ways! From WA to Illinois, I thought it would be nearly impossible. But nope, anything is possible!

    Once the chickies dried out tomorrow, I will post some pics!

    Are their eggs as dark as the large fowl?

    Heres the pic of the bantam eggs and my LF Welsummer egg:

    They are not as dark but they are darker than most bantam eggs I've gotten. With a couple of generation, using only the darkest eggs, we will get there eventually since it is a new breed. I will also use the bantam roos on my LF Welsummers and breed their offsprings down and still maintain the color of eggs like my LF. some are speckled and some are solid.

    the sizes of eggs ranging from very small to small in size. I have only two that are almost of medium size. Im comparing those sizes with the grocery store eggs. However they are not as small as the Hamburg Bantam eggs.

    the eggs look to be a good size for bantam
