It's done!

There is some space at the bottom of the run, because they built it on blocks so it would be level. We need to get pavers or something to block that off, whitewash the inside of the coop, and make the anti-predator apron.

The run door has springs so it will close, and a latch string inside to open it.

WOOT!!!
Very nice.
Be sure to add an apron around the entire thing.

Does the west wall window have hardware cloth on it?
That might need to stay open A LOT for more ventilation, especially in our summer heat.

Yes, all windows have hardware cloth.

Advise me on how best to fill in that gap under the run?
I think you should build a hardware cloth apron all the way around it.
Then put some stepping stone type things on top of the apron.

Let me go look for a picture of what I am talking about. BRB

I'm worried about the chicks getting under the run edge from the inside. Also about providing good support for it over time. I am wondering about shoving some kind of paving stones underneath from the inside. And still the fencing wire apron outside.
Rats can crawl right through those holes too.
Hardware cloth will help keep rats out and trust me...rats will so up out of no where.

That looks like a really, really nice coop. Well done, you!
