I was unable to submit my response to the teen who wondered if being made to get a job was child abuse. Was the thread pulled?
Boy, I have some strong views on this:
#1 I take real issue with all the things we like to label "abuse." I worked in a shelter. I have seen people who have been beat to sh*t. I have known people with no marks on them that have been terrorized & fear for their lives. Careful what you call abusive.
#2 Making a kid get his keister off the couch is not abuse.
#3 I worked from age 16, on. It kept my family off welfare.
