I was cleaning the coop this morning and found poop with I believe worms in it. My chickens range in age from 18 months to 10 weeks. A few of the girls have been spending more time in the coop but I had assumed that was because they’re molting and it just got cold this past week. They have never been wormed and the last time we had a fecal float done was in June. Can anyone tell me what this is so I can figure out what meds to go buy?

My poor chickens have been having a rough few days. They’re in their first molt and yesterday while I had they out in the yard before bed a hawk went after them for the first time. Luckily he missed on his first dive then I managed to scare him off. Now today it’s worms. I think that wormy poop was the grossest thing I’ve ever seen.

Parasites are always a possibility but I don’t think you can ever be prepared to face that sight. Yuck.

Just out of curiosity, was the fecal float in June clear?
