My baby chick keeps laying down a lot, even to drink and eat. She walks sometimes like she wont stand all the way. When I stand her up she sits down in like a couple seconds. Sometimes she doesnt even lay with the other chicks. What could this be?

I'm having a similar problem. People recommended electrolytes or sugar water to give her some energy. Is she warm enough?

I think so and do I make my own sugar water?

I put about a quarter of a cup of water with a half a teaspoon of sugar and heated it til it was luke warm. Be sure it's not too warm, it's better colder than too warm. I set my baby in my lap and took a little water on a spoon and held it in front of her. If she won't drink then GENTLY dip the tip of her beak in it. I let mine drink about a quarter of a teaspoon. Hope it helps!

Ok I tried it. She drank a little bit of it from the spoon. So I hope it helps.

I would do that every 45 min. To an hour
Mine is starting to perk up a little. Once she gets a little stronger you can put a little chickstarter in th sugar water an see if she will eat it. Throw it out after two hours or it will spoil. Good luck!
