    Hi Everyone!!

I am worried about my chicken. None of my chickens had spraddle legs when they were young chicks. I notice the this chicken (Woodstock) had one crooked toe a couple of weeks ago. In the last couple of days we notice that his legs look spraddle but from what i have read its kinda late to develop. Feeding Organic Layer feed.

Please let me know what you think. I have attached a video below.[IMG]

That looks like it could be a slipped tendon or a leg bone deformity. Bone deformities are common, and they tend to get worse as the chick grows, sometimes causing the rupture of the hock tendon. Varus valgus deformity and tibial dyschondroplasia are some of the ones I have read about. Most of the time it is permanent, but many try splinting and vitamins with trace minerals (such as Poultry Nutri-drench) to try and help. Some keep these chickens in small flocks, so they can get along with some extra help. Here is some reading for you:

Thanks so much. We will look at his tendon and maybe splinting to see if that helps. I will look for the Poultry Nutri-drench. I really appreciate your help.
