Worried about my little limping chick

One of our 2 1/2 week old , barred rock chicks all of a sudden started limping tonight. He seems to be getting short of breath from hopping around so much There doesn't seem to be any obvious injury.... He was lying down on his back a bit ago and holding his leg tight to his body and panting. I of course am crying with my daughter telling ME it will be ok. Can anyone think of anything I should do?

He may have been in an arguement with another chick. Chicks can be really mean to each other.

I would separate him from the rest and keep a close eye on him. Have you checked the leg to make sure it moves normally?

he seems to be doing much better today. He is perched on his roost and seems to be weight bearing on both legs. He isn't cheeping, but he is eating. He is seperated from the others for now.
