I have (2) 2 week old Red Sex Link chicks. I gave them about 8 pieces of canned corn, they seemed to LOVE IT. Now they are just laying around, not chirping. I'm positive they breathing. I tried to steer them by rubbing them and They will just go elsewhere and lay. I am very worried I made them sick, any advice will help. Thanks in advance!

UPDATE: As of 6:10a this morning one my birds seem be out of it. No playing, eating or drinking. She ate very little of the corn. I checked for Pasty Butt and abnormal poo, that's not happening. She just lays there. Tried the sugar water technique, not responsive. The other chick is running around chirping, back to normal. At this point I am at a lost. :(

Are you sure they are not just tired?

Have you got grit----if you feed chicks anything other than chick feed you got to give them grit----got some sand? I have raised 1000's and never feed them anything other than factory feed till they are on the dirt. Good Luck

Yeah, I thought about that too. It's just they had been so active before.

Was the corn bad or have mold on it. If not then it wasn't the corn. Did you have them out of the brooder?

Do this-----while they are off the dirt---only feed them factory feed---if you put them on the ground introduce other feed slowly and you should be Good.
