Here's a link to toxic foods that poultry shouldn't eat and why:
    http://www.poultryhelp.com/toxicplants.html

Here's a link here at BYC to the best treats for them:
    https://www.backyardchickens.com/a/chicken-treat-chart-the-best-treats-for-backyard-chickens

Here's the link to the source where I found these links (also here at BYC)

So it would seem to me it would depend largely on whether or not those toxic foods are changed in composition upon being cooked/baked/boiled in a soup as to whether or not they would still be toxic. Composition of certain foods changes when it's changed from one state (form) to another.

That being said, I see a LOT of "Toxic" foods on this list that people here give their chickens all the time and they never make posts about those chickens getting sick from them. LOL One lady hangs her apple cores up and lets the chickens eat them (I would imagine seeds included) - they aren't sick at all...soooo...I'd say it depends on the chicken and the source stating what is unsafe/toxic for them might not be completely accurate.

I say give them the soup and if they fall ill, cross that bridge if you come to it. [IMG]

Just make sure the soup isn't overly salted...too much salt isn't good for birdies :)
