Just out of curiosity, where did you hear this information? :) Not trying to be condescending or anything, just genuinely want to know! Polish hens and pullets do not get pointed saddles or hackles. They have the same sex characteristics of any other breed, just with a crest. The only hens who can get pointed saddle feathers (minus extremely rare hormone problems) are a few of the long-tailed breeds from especially good lines like an Onagadori. For any average chicken owner, a hen will never have pointed saddle/hackle feathers. I have never heard this myth before until recently and would like to figure out the source so it can stop being perpetuated! :D
Oh no it’s totally fine! I don’t mind being wrong!😉 I’ve seen it a few times but this is one of the sites I looked at when trying to sex my silver polishes (who both ended up being pullets!!😆):

Thanks for catching my mistake!😁

Too young for the Polish/Silkies/Silkie mixes. The Brahma is a pullet and is buff rather than partridge :)
Thank you! I was thinking her coloring wasn’t coming in quite as I expected and am pleased she’s looking like a pullet because she has such a lovely temperament.
