I turned my out my male pheasant about a month ago...I finally found him a female..brought her home..and he was gone!!! My daughter in law seen him out on the road..he was almost hit by a car, then he flew into the woods!!! Do you think he will be back?

just wait and see is all I can tell you. You just never know but I'd say the chances are good that he may return.

Pheasant don't typically stay around a certain area very long. They are also high on the predation list and are usually taken by hawks, owls and fox within their first year. Personally, I wouldn't "turn them out".

Your right I should have never let him out. He would run back and forth in his pin. He had his nose scraped and bleeding from the chicken wire. I really felt bad for keeping him up. He would come in most nights with the chickens in the coop. I guess that I was just hoping he would stay around!

Maybe if you sit that hen out there in a cage- it will attract him.

I would say its time to start shopping for a Male to go with that female, and if you want them to stay around keep them in the cages.
