I got a duck recently. She had been the favorite of the boys at her previous home. Her wounds have scabs on them, no open wounds. I am looking for advice on if I need to do anything to treat the wounds or leave them alone. She is now in a small, all female flock. She is the white duck (not the runner). You can see the scab on her face and where she is missing feathers.

I rescued two drakes last night, one of which has a long would from round his left eye down his neck. Very like your duck's: dry but lost feathers. He had clearly been attacked by another drake -- not the one I found him with.

I am leaving the drake alone -- he was very dirty [hungry and dehydrated] when I found him, but he cleaned himself up once he had rehydrated and fed. He puts his whole head and much of his neck in the tub I gave them for drinking water.

If I had your duck with a dry scabby wound, I would also leave it alone for nature to heal. I would treat it differently if it were an open wound or signs of infection.

The photo doesn't show the full extent of the wound, but I don't want to stress him by getting too close
