My family has had chickens for a year or two.
We have never come across this so-called "wrinkled egg"
It is very weird looking.
I have done some research on the web and heard it is caused by a lack of calcium.
Alrite. So how do i provide my chickens with calcium??

someone please help!

thanks

Hi and Welcome to BYC!

We give our girls egg shells for extra calcium. I wash them in warm water then put them in the oven and bake them for a bit (to kill bacteria), then crush them up beyond recognition and make sure that it's available at all times. That way the girls can eat them when their bodies let them know they need the extra calcium. Works like a charm!

Hope this helps!
