    Ideal has bantams I think standard size silkies would be better for the table. They sure would make a unique looking meal.

    There is nothing wrong with eating a Silkie. The skin, meat and bones are just black... nothing different other than pigment.

    I think this should be in meat birds, too.. Of all chickens, I think a silkie would be the one I would not ever eat.. To each there own, I guess, but I second the EWWW....

    Silkies are the same as any bird, they just different. We slaughter regular looking chickens without a second thought, why should a Silkie be different? JMHO

    oh KNOCK IT OFF!!!!!! it was a Question!!!! nobody should be " i woudnt eat a silkie" "EEEEWWWW" that is not a proper answer to that question. So Please if you do not have an answer please just dont post because it does irritat some people.



    ___Yes post this under the Chicken breeders and hatchery forum because this wasnt about the meat of the bird it was to see a silkie from ideal
