Does anybody know where a fellow could get a pair or eggs to hatch ?
I believe the birds normally used as 'doves' in a wedding are actually white homing pigeons. Good luck on your search
Yes they are white homers problem is you have to buy like 6-10 pair and i dont want but one
If I knew how to ship live birds, I'd send you a pair. My dad has so many, he wouldn't even notice they were gone!
Now dont go gittin shot by dear ole dad
He could send a couple of eggs my way if he didnt mind might could send something i have he,d like
Quote:Pigeons and doves feed their young, so it's close to impossible to hatch them with a bator.
I kind of thought that but it was an idea
I would like to find a pair for my niece to put in the aviary so if anyone could find in there heart to help out with this
It would be more appreciated than you know
I built this aviary mainly for her
She now has golden pheasants a turkey diamond doves, ducks, chickens , quail and chukars
The diamonds will almost let her pet them now
I had pigeons when i was young and they were the most friendly birds
She is thirteen now and only 3.5 ft or so tall she has DWARFISISM and loves the birds and her horses
Any help would be greatly appreciated
I would keep an eye on eggbid.com sometimes they have good deals on white's show up every now and then. Check under live birds. A few loft owners ship any amount...problem is with only wanting a pair you still need to pay full shipping price and price of the box which gets $$$. Another option is searching the AU site for local pigeon racers in your area. I think it's pigeon.org Member emails are listed on there and some may have whites or know someone who does that is close to you.
My birds are all young still and not producing babies or I would gladly ship you some. Good luck and I hope you find a good pair for her.
