I was wondering if my precious Annabelle was EVER going to lay. She has been squatting ever since 5 months old. Her comb/wattles have been really red and fully grown since she started squatting. She even practiced in the nest box at 6 months old, but no egg. I was wondering after 7 months of no laying, she'd be purly a pet.

At 9 months of age, she laid her very first egg! She was the last of the 8 girls to lay! I love the roundness and her egg is much darker then I expected.

Congratulations! It's a little darker than my Wyandottes' eggs, but maybe because it "cooked" so long? [IMG]
