Hi đź‘‹

just wondering if anyone can tell me what age Wyandotte’s stop laying at?

I took on a 2yr old Hen about a month ago and she is yet to lay...

Thanks so much!

Beautiful bird, but you should treat her feet and legs for scaly leg mites and all of your other chickens too as this might have spread already during the 4 weeks since she joined.

What do you feed her, is she in good condition or maybe too fat? Did you inspect for lice or mites?

My two Silver Laced Wyandottes hatched in April 2015 and are each still laying 4-5 eggs per week.
They go broody twice a year and after about 8 weeks of caring for their chicks they start laying again.

Yea treat her legs now. Pretty common for a hen to stop laying when moved to a new flock or home. She should start laying again soon especially if you fix her leg mite problem.

Thank you both so very much for your replies! I have inspected her and she doesn’t seem to have any mite infestation at all! I feed them veg and pullets and no signs of anything on my other hens either. I was thinking it would be her change of home that had stopped her laying. Just want to make sure she is as happy and as healthy as possible!
