I am a novice chicken owner and have recently acquired seven chickens; 2 Wyandottes, 2 Welsummers, 2 Ameracaunas, and 1 Cochin. I have spent a lot of time watching and enjoying my new critters, but I have noticed that one of the Wyandottes gets 'picked' on a lot. I have named her Wanda and it seems one of the Ameracaunas and the Cochin take great delight in cornering Wanda in the coop and pecking her. For seven chickens they have an 8' x 12' coop with an 8' x16' outdoor run, plenty of food and water, and four nesting boxes. Why are they picking on Wanda??

They are just getting pecking order down. But I would keep an eye on them and if things get to out of hand take her out for awhile. then reintroduce her back in. This has helped the ones that get pickrd on the my flock.

Thanks for the advice!!! I'll try taking her out of the flock for a couple of days should they continue to pick on her.
