Year +old Toms - too tough to roast?

    I have two extra Beltsville Toms - Are they only good for ground meat & soup?

    If they are barely a year old, I would think they would be OK as roasters.

    Cook them, and if the meat is tough, you can do something else with it. After it is roasted, it is not too late to grind it or make soup out of it so you will not waste it.

    I use roasted turkey to make enchiladas. The meat is shredded to make that dish, so shredding the cooked meat and using it in casseroles is also an option.

    I was told that year old toms are just fine . . . we'll see together mine is in the frig resting.
