so a few weeks back i took on 5 Vieja Synspilum cichlids, an adult pair and 3 young from a previous nest. well ive not had them long but theyve already laid eggs, and a few days ago the eggs hatched...im now proud 'grandmother' to hundreds and hundreds of tiny little fishies [IMG])

im so happy! tried to get a few photos but the fry are tiny! a few have left the nest (those at the front) and the rest of the nest is behond the castle wall......

this couple live in a 800L aquarium just for them (and their babies now of course!) beautiful fish with lots of personality!

just to give you an idea of their size...this is my 4yr old daughter, and one of the fish [IMG]

That's the coolest thing I've seen in awhile! Your human fry looks cute, too!

Awesome fish! Good luck on fry rearing. Do the parents raise the young in this species?

Is it necessary to remove the parent fish at some point?
